For those lucky enough to have witnessed Kris Doty wielding her upright bass like a two step dance partner, she clearly is an otherworldly performer overflowing with musical intuition. Her decades long collaboration with songwriter Drew Grow positions her perfectly as his secret weapon, delivering repeated doses of melody, rhythm and vitality. Smoke In The Mirror however is Kris's solo record from her days in the Boise, Idaho music scene. It turns the spotlight squarely on her distinctive voice and unique songwriting, revealing underneath a compelling raw creativity.
